Give a lovely glow in the garden, especially now the evenings are becoming more pleasant to be outside. There's about 12" gap between each lamp, and maybe 6' or so of cable between the last lamp and the plug which is a good length.

The bulbs themselves are actually plastic, which makes moving the whole string much less of a delicate feel - with glass bulbs I would want to fit the string up first and then put the bulbs in, but it comes with the bulbs already fitted so it can be just hung up with no extra work.

Not convinced on the waterproof side - there is no rubber gasket between the bulb and the holders, and as far as I can tell the whole unit is 240V, so if any bulbs twist to face upwards then water will easily go on the electrical contacts. I would try and make sure they are hanging downwards as much as possible. The listing does say they should only be outside in light rain, and I agree with that. Each bulb holder has a small plastic clip which will help hold them in the correct orientation if you have something suitable to clip them to.

There is a connector on the end of the string so another set of lamps can be fitted to extend the length, which could be very useful and is a nice feature to have.

Came with a spare bulb which was a pleasant surprise. It was also a good thing as one of the bulbs was blown on arrival. Aside from this and the slightly iffy "waterproof" claim, this is a great set and really adds atmosphere to the garden.

These are great lights . 2 strings easily connected. Glass bulbs which in time will need to be swapped with LEDs but we knew what we were getting. Very easy to install and very impressed with them . BIG tip . Hang them first then put the bulbs in .. if u put bulbs in first then hang .. if u have a dodgy bulb it will blow the fuse .. I'm really happy with them at the moment . Just need to see if they can cope with UK weather

I have mixed feels about this string of lights. On the one hand, they have good quality wire, a good plug and are correctly 3A fused. On the other, these lights are at best water resistant, and certainly not waterproof. They'll also corrode quickly if left outside.

The lights comprise of a string of parallel wired 230V E12 screw fitting bulbs. The bulbs themselves are LED cob, and housed in a plastic (not glass) shell. That's not a bad thing, it means that they'll not smash if they fall, and can take an alternative bulb. There's also a spare included, which is a nice touch.

The fittings themselves have a hook to allow you to attach them to things, but the they're kinda cheap and could easily suffer water ingress. I think its worth mentioning, as people would assume they can put them outside and then just forget about them. Sadly, I think you can only put them outside for an event when its dry, and make sure the bulbs are facing downwards in case there's rain. In a way, they're much better suited for indoor use.

You are getting a lot of bulbs for your money, so there in value in this set. I just don't think you should assume they're fully waterproof and have them permanently outdoors.

Well made set of string lights.
Will bring a cozy chilling vibe to any place you will use them.
I have already used these on my garden fence around the sitting area so I created a cozy lighted space for those late nights outside!
It looks magically,quite bright as the bulbs are enough big.I got so many good words about them from my friends.
As the bulbs aren’t made from glass I don’t worry as much of accidentally break them and contaminate the grass /paving blocks as I also have two little ones plus a dog.
It will be powered from an outdoor main power socket but we are safe as the power connection is also protected as long as it doesn’t actually rain on it :)
Good for travel as they are not heavy or require a large space.
You also get two spare bulbs in case of accidents.
They came in very nicely packed with no damage.
Good value for the price!
