These are the questions I needed answering before purchasing, and found it difficult to find out. So hoping this helps others. Brief Summary: this is a well made product, sized correctly, 6 zippered pockets and very comfortable. The 3 different heating areas (front, back, neck/shoulders) can be switched on and off individually, and each one has 3 heat settings. With a comfortable hood and an adjustable cord around the hip, this works really well and is priced right for a quality item, particularly when there is a discount code offered. The Details There are 3 internal zippered pockets and 3 external. The battery sits in one of the internal pockets, where the charge cable is. There is an internal pocket for ‘devices’, (phones etc.) labelled as such, but it is just a pocket, there’s no charging cable in it. When switching on, there’s a few minutes warm up period at full, then the jacket defaults to the coolest setting. A quick press then allows you to change the heat setting for each area (front, back, neck/shoulder). It’s effective and makes a noticeable difference. The battery pack is easily charged with the USB cable. It DOES NOT run down if left attached to the cable in the jacket. However, when the jacket is on, the front switch is lit up. A single press switches the light off, but the heating is still on. You can turn the light on and off with a quick press, but to the turn the jacket off you have to have a long press. Perhaps this has caused confusion. The heating panels are smaller than shown in the graphics (see the attached photos, showing approximate locations and size). The front panels are located in line with the arm holes, the back panel is for the upper back. The neck and shoulder panels, although small, do work well on those cold days with the wind whistling around the neck. All the panels are warm enough and work effectively. They heat up and then stay on until switched off. The heat is mainly for the upper body, but it does keep you warm. I’ve done a very basic test and there is a heat difference between the different levels. Perhaps the only real disappointment is the battery pack. I’ve found that it does not last anywhere near as long as advertised. Even on the lowest setting the battery is only lasting about 4 hours, and a bit less on high. There is no way this would last 10 hours. So it’s fine for few dog walks, or a round of golf, but a second battery might be useful if planning to use this continuously for a full day. This can be easily carried in the internal pocket. The fit is as described. The jacket is well made and looks like a quality piece. The only strange thing is that the zip is on the ‘wrong side’. But you quickly get used to it. There is a large comfortable hood although I’ve removed mine using the zipper. The jacket is supplied in a zippered cloth carrying case that could be useful if travelling around. It comes with a plug, a charging cable and the battery, all boxed. I had an issue with my jacket but the customer service team resolved it quickly, which is what matters. I have never had a heated jacket so cannot compare this to others. But for fit, style and function I’m really happy with this and would recommend it, with the only reservation being the battery life.
