  • What is a manual lens?

It can't autofocus and need to spend time to turn the focus ring on the lens to focus before you can take a sharp picture.

  • How to use a manual focus lens?

First of all, manual focus lenses need to be used in M-mode; secondly, it requires to manually set the proper ISO and shutter speed through the camera, and the aperture value cannot be set by the camera(that's why it shows F--/F00); the aperture can only be adjusted by the aperture ring on the lens.

  1. Attach the lens to your camera;
  2. Switch to M mode.

  • ISO and shutter speed must be adjusted manually in M mode.
  • Manual lenses do not display the aperture value, which is why F00 or F-- is displayed on the camera.
  • The aperture value F1.8-22 can only be adjusted with the aperture ring on the lens.
